Introduction

Welcome to The Woolenwick Schools website.

Woolenwick Infant and Nursery School and Woolenwick Junior School are collectively referred to as The Woolenwick Schools. This is a shared website and covers information for both schools.

In September 2025, Woolenwick Infant and Nursery School and Woolenwick Junior School federated following a period of consultation and a unanimous vote from the school’s then-governing bodies.

The federation means that both schools now work closely together with aligned values, strengthened leadership, and enhanced educational opportunities. The schools operate under a single governing body which is accountable for setting the strategic direction for both schools. The Woolenwick Schools share the same Board of Governors and Mr Richard Pallant is Executive Head teacher across both schools.

Since federating, the children across both schools have continued to see benefits from the improvements and changes implemented so far. Over the last school year (2025-2026) we have been able to improve our staffing arrangements to deliver joined specialist services covering both schools. We now have Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team that works across both schools, as well as a PE team working across both, offering specialist PE teaching. The Woolenwick Schools continue to work closer together to find ways to enhance opportunities for the children.

While federated, each school still retains its individual identity and both remain legally separate. For example, each school will continue to have it’s own Ofsted inspections, and admissions must be made separately to each school.
