PE and Sports Premium

The Government has guaranteed funding specifically for primary school PE and Sport. This funding is provided jointly by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and goes directly to Headteachers to spend on improving the quality of PE and Sport for all children.

The vision is that all children will leave primary school being physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport. The objective is for primary schools to achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and Sport they offer.

Woolenwick Junior School believes that active involvement in PE and Sport raises standards and addresses issues such as health and well-being, confidence and self-esteem.  Each afternoon children participate in a physical health and mental wellbeing break where different activities take place daily.
